the depth of the sea

this is a photo of the coastal line near where i'm staying in Port Elizabeth. as you can see i've played with it a bit....i love the feel of this photo! the tones and contrast give it an old photo feel as a well as a dark morbid view of the sea!

re-working of an old photo

okay...so I'm still having some photographer's block...but I've been trying to be creative on a digital print side of things! as a photographer these days you have to have great photoshop skills...so i bought me a book...and i read the book cover to cover and learnt a few new tricks. lots of people...or non-photographers...have a lot to say about playing around with your photos in photoshop...when i first started out i was like okay rule number ONE: no manipulation of photos candace..whatsoever...
but as I've gone on I've decided that rule is outdated, cos it's like saying to a film photographer, no chemicals or fancy photo paper! before the days of digital, photographers were manipulating their photos...just not with a computer...it was all hands on! anyway enough rambling and justification.
this photo is an old photo and you might recognise William from a few posts back...anyway as you can see I've changed the colour and played around with the tone and contrast resulting in what i think is a far better photo!!!!

in the wake of death

okay this is an old photo that i took, but i've been playing around with it and now i think it's time to show it....i must say i'm not a fan of flower photography (think it a bit boring) but this photo is just oh so pretty and worth sharing...plus i haven't taken any new photo recently, having a slight case of photographer's block...
